The initiative, which the White House calls IMCP (“Investing
in Manufacturing Communities”),strives to boost American
manufacturing and strengthen local communities.
The Manufacturing Roundtable will convene local governments in Michigan with top officials.
These officials include the federal and state government, private sector manufacturers
and other organizations seeking to promote more robust manufacturing growth in Michigan.
Christopher Goetz, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, attended the function
as a panelist along with other distinguished panelists from Shaltz Automation,
GM Manufacturing Operations and others. Attendees included Lieutenant Governor Brian Calley;
Congressman Dan Kildee; Mayors from a number of Michigan communities and others
that all came together for the goal to “convene key stakeholders from a number of sectors
to promote the re-emergence of manufacturing in communities like Flint and beyond.”
Flint was the first stop for the IMCP initiative which will hold a number of Manufacturing
Roundtables across the country.
